Apollo 15

Artifact
Date: 2019 | Photo by: Chris Griffith

The Apollo 15 Command Module is displayed at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. This is appropriate as the three-member crew (Scott, Worden, Irwin) were all Air Force officers. Unlike most capsule displays, the hatch is closed preventing visitors from viewing the interior. The capsule is also displayed without being encased in Plexiglas. VA rails in place. The closed hatch conceals the missing instrument panels inside.
