CM-007

CM-007 was initially configured like a Block 1 command module. It was used in water impact and flotation tests in the Gulf of Mexico. After completing the Block 1 tests, spacecraft 007 was modified to a Block 2 (lunar mission) configuration. It was re-designated 007A and returned to Houston for tests on the new outward-opening hatch mandated after the Apollo 1 tragedy. In 1971, CM 007A was transported to Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, for extreme cold testing in support of the Skylab program.
