B1023 became the third orbital-class rocket to land on a droneship after launching Thaicom 8 into orbit on May 27, 2016. B1023 and B1025 were assigned the role of side boosters for the Falcon Heavy test flight in 2017, after which they underwent separate static fire tests. The boosters were mated to a newly built Falcon Heavy core, B1033, for the flight. B1023 is on display at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in its Falcon Heavy side booster configuration. B1025 was scrapped.
