Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 5 (LC-5) was used for both Alan Shepard's Freedom 7 and Gus Grissom's Liberty Bell 7 sub-orbital missions. Visitors can view this site via an additional tour from the Kennedy Visitor Center. The pad has a replica Mercury-Redstone rocket displayed without a supporting gantry.
