LC-26 is the home of the Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum. The blockhouse, situated 400 feet from either pad, looks much like it did in the late 1950's, full of equipment used to control and monitor a launch. Launch Complex 26 was built in support of Army Redstone and Jupiter missile testing. Launch Pad 26A was the site of the launch of the first U.S. satellite, Explorer I, on January 31, 1958. To the south of the Museum (walking distance) is Launch Complex 5/6.
