Challenger (OV-099)

Challenger was destroyed during a launch accident on January 28, 1986, with the loss of the entire crew. While most of the recovered parts are now stored within two former Minuteman silos (Space Launch Complex 31 & 32) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, one fragement is on public display in the 'Forever Remembered' exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
